About the meeting
NHS South West London Integrated Care Board took on statutory duties from 1 July 2022 as part of South West London Integrated Care System and the changes brought into force by the 2022 Health and Social Care Act.
Integrated Care Systems are partnerships of organisations that come together to plan and deliver joined up health and care services to improve the lives of people in their area.
There are two parts of the South West London Integrated Care System:
- The Integrated Care Board (ICB) decides how our South West London NHS budget is spent and develops plans to improve people’s health, deliver higher quality care, and better value for money. The ICB will make the decisions about how health and care is planned and paid for locally.
- The Integrated Care Partnership (ICP) is a committee that brings the NHS together with other key partners, like local authorities, to develop a strategy to enable the Integrated Care System to improve health and wellbeing in its area.
NHS South West London ICB also took over responsibilities from NHS South West London Clinical Commissioning Group which ceased to exist at the end of June 2022.
Items for discussion at the first ICB meeting included:
- The next steps for primary care integration: the Fuller stocktake
- Addressing health inequalities
- Improving care through population health management
