Thanks to the extraordinary work of local GP teams and NHS staff throughout this incident, extra same-day appointments in primary care were available over the weekend across south west London, to help keep disruption to patients at a minimum.
Pharmacies were busier over the weekend, with additional people seeking heath and care advice. Pharmacists also worked very closely with GPs to ensure patients continued to receive the right medication, with many GPs moving to handwritten prescriptions.
As well as working with London Ambulance Service over a very busy hot and sunny weekend, our local hospitals also stepped in to support general practice, by supporting people seeking urgent care.
Please continue to be patient with us. There still may be some delays as services continue to recover, particularly with GPs needing to rebook appointments and pharmacists are working hard to catch up with volume of requests, as well as update systems.
It’s important that people attend their booked appointments as normal unless told otherwise.
You can contact your GP in the usual way, or use your local pharmacy, the NHS app, NHS 111 online or call 111 for urgent health advice.
