If you’re over 50 and you haven’t had your Covid-19 autumn booster vaccination yet, we’re here at Centre Court Wimbledon until just before Christmas. You can walk in or book an appointment – we’ve got plenty of slots. The vaccination centre closes on Friday 23 December so make sure you catch us before we’re gone.
If you’re out and about or doing your shopping, do pop by – we’d love to welcome you”
Centre matron Najima Alibaba says: “If you’re 50 or above and you haven’t had your autumn booster, feel free to walk in at any time during our opening hours – or book on the NHS website. If you’re out and about or doing your shopping, do pop by – we’d love to welcome you.”
Almost two years after vaccinating its first patients, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Centre Court Vaccination Centre will give its final vaccinations on 23 December.
Here more from Peter, a vaccinator at the centre:
Even once the centre has closed, Covid-19 vaccinations will continue to be available to everyone eligible, for as long as they are needed. You can get vaccinated at GP practices, pharmacies and pop-up venues in Merton and across south west London.
However, if you’re still due a vaccine dose, catch us before we close, whether you’re in Wimbledon for Christmas shopping, visiting the Piazza craft market or seeing the town’s famous panto.
I had Covid in July and I don’t want to get it again so hoping this will help”
If you’re eligible for the vaccine you can book online or walk in but check times and days first as the centre offers children’s polio vaccinations only during some sessions.

Nicky came to the centre for her autumn booster after receiving an invitation from the NHS. She said: “I came into Centre Court today to get my booster. I booked it in advance. I felt it was a good thing to do; to just boost my immunity. I had Covid in July and I don’t want to get it again so hoping this will help.”
You can have the autumn booster if you’re aged over 50, if you’re pregnant, a healthcare worker or at risk because of a health condition.
Vanessa also came to Centre Court for her booster:

You can also come to Centre Court for a vaccination if you missed any of your previous doses or if you just want to talk to the vaccination team about any questions or concerns you have.
Centre Court vaccination centre opened in March 2021 as part of the NHS’s biggest ever vaccination programme – since then it has vaccinated more than 135,000 people with first second and booster doses of the Covid-19 vaccination. The centre is closing after everyone eligible for the vaccination has been offered a jab on 23 November.
South West London’s other mass vaccination sites, Centrale, Croydon and St Nicholas, Sutton, will also close on 23 December.
