South west Londoners eligible for the Covid-19 seasonal jab will be able to walk into more than 100 pharmacies to get their vaccination.
The walk-in pharmacy vaccination service, which also covers flu jabs for eligible south west Londoners, aims to make getting a top-up vaccination as easy and convenient as possible.
Pharmacists and their teams are qualified vaccinators, trained in first aid and can support and advise patients through the quick, painless and safe Covid-19 jab process.
Pharmacies are in your neighbourhood and on your high street so it’s great that more than 100 locally are helping with our push to protect those most at risk from Covid.
Local GP Dr Nicola Jones
Local GP Dr Nicola Jones is calling on eligible people – including all aged 65 and over, pregnant women and some people who have an underlying health condition – to get vaccinated as soon as possible, with local pharmacies making it even easier.
Dr Jones said: “Pharmacies are in your neighbourhood and on your high street so it’s great that more than 100 locally are helping with our push to protect those most at risk from Covid.
“Being able to walk into a local pharmacy at a time that suits you makes it even more convenient to get a vaccination and top up your immunity ahead of winter.
“This flu and Covid vaccination programme provides vital protection to those eligible and their families, keeping people from developing serious illnesses, and helping to minimise hospitalisations during busy winter months.”
NHS teams are already delivering Covid seasonal jabs at many pharmacies in Merton, Wandsworth, Kingston, Richmond, Sutton and Croydon – as well as at local community clinics and GP practices.
